Resurrection Sunday

The Lord is doing a tremendous work in our International Church in Hamra.  This past Resurrection Sunday will be a service that will always be remembered.  It was a privilege to minister to the international community on this blessed day.  I shared from Acts chapter 2.  The whole purpose of the resurrection of our Lord was so we could live Holy Spirit empowered lives.  In the Old Testament, men of God would have the Holy Spirit come upon them for a task then He would leave.  After Jesus ascended heaven the Holy Spirit rested and dwelt in his servants for the first time.  That is why the Lord Jesus said it is better for me to go to my Father so the Helper can come to you.  Peter who denied Jesus three times gave a message where 3,000 people were saved on the day of Pentecost.  This is the result of the Resurrection and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit then led me to say that the cross means it is finished, but the resurrection means new beginnings.  I instructed the attendees to bring their sins and struggles to the cross so they will be finished.  Then they will be resurrection into new beginnings with Him.  Praise be to our Lord to whom all Glory is due.

“May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” 2 Cor. 13:14

Evangelism Meeting

This past Monday we held our evangelism meeting at Abundant Life.  There were many new faces this evening and the rows were full of attendees.  The service began with worship to the Lord.  Then one of the servants of the church shared his testimony.  He had been controlled by fear for a long time, and he had to take medication because of that fear.  The Lord has touched him and he is no longer totally dependent on the medicine.  The Lord is bringing him into His perfect peace.  Then the youth of the church opened with a skit about the Palm Sunday.  It was very creative and caught the attention of the viewers. 

Then I preached the message of Redemption.  My text was found in Isaiah 50:5.  Jesus was not rebellious to the Father’s will.  He did everything the Father commanded Him.  His face was set like a flint when he entered into Jerusalem.  I then spoke about the prostitute that was brought before Jesus to be stoned.  Accusers left when the Lord said “he without sin throw the first stone”.  This lady was redeemed.  The Lord told her to go and sin no more.  We were all bought with an expensive price, and He gives us the same command to go and sin no more. 

 I then gave the opportunity to those who wanted to receive this gift of redemption.  Many responded in the prayer time and chose to give their lives to our Savior.  So I leave this with you.  Our lord entered Jerusalem boldly not despising the shame, allowing His face to be spit upon, and His beard to be pulled out.  Even through all this He was not rebellious to His Father’s plan.  How much more can we submit our lives to our good Father.

International Church in Hamra

This past Sunday we held our third meeting at our International Church in Hamra.  The Lord has placed it in my heart to be a pastor of an English speaking church that reaches out to the international people living In Beirut, Lebanon.  The Lord has truly blessed us as we have five different nationalities.  We have ten Madagascar girls, ten Lebanese, three Pilipino, one Sri Lankan, and one American missionary attending the meetings on Sunday from 2-4pm.  Many of the attendees work as maids in people’s homes and many are mistreated and unloved.  The Holy Spirit has already begun touching their lives as you see many of them weeping when the worship music starts.  They are so hungry for His Word because as soon as I start preaching I can tell by their faces they are receiving my words as they were from the Lord. Their hearts are so precious, and I know the Lord is going to do a great work as I obey him in leading this International Church.  Please keep us in prayer as we minister the love of God to the international community in Lebanon.

  “Now may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (2 Cor. 13:14).

Monday Meeting

On Monday, January 25^th, we held our evangelism meeting at Abundant Life Church.  The meeting as usual opened with a few evangelist songs about God’s love.  Then one of our American missionary who serves at the church gave his testimony.  He shared how he was raised in a Christian home and went to a Christian school, but how he struggled with condemnation and guilt.  He always saw the heavenly Father in Heaven ready to punish him whenever he would make a mistake.  He then shared how God delivered him from this bondage by embracing him in his teens with unconditional love. 

This testimony was then followed by a song of God’s amazing love.  The Work of the Spirit was definitely moving as I opened the message with Matthew 11:28 “Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.”  I then spoke on bringing our burdens to the Lord so we can have rest in our souls.

 First, I encouraged the attendants to bring the burden of loneliness to Jesus.  He would be the only one to satisfy their longing for friendship.  Even if you are surrounded by many people the spirit of loneliness can burden you.  Second, I spoke on bringing your burden of fear to the Lord.  This burden robs so many people from having peace in their lives.

 Lastly, I spoke on bringing the burden of condemnation and guilt to the Lord just like the missionary who gave his testimony at the beginning of the meeting.  I felt the love of God so strong for these people and I just ministered How Jesus loved us so much He went to the Cross so we could live in freedom from these many burdens.  I then asked all those who needed freedom in these areas to stand and half of the attendants responded to that call.  You could feel the love of God so strong in that room healing the hearts of His people.  So I leave you with this call as well if you are burdened with any of these spirits, “Come all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28).

لا تتمسّكْ بتقاليد البشر بل بوصيّة الرّبّ

كم أنا متشجّع هذه السنة وقلبي ممتلئ فرح بعريس نفوسنا الرب يسوع المسيح وأسعى أن أقترب إلى قلبه وأكون صديقه وأدعو جميع المؤمنين أن يكونوا أصدقاء العريس.
فقد جاء في يو3: 22 : وَذَهَبَ يَسُوعُ وَتَلاَمِيذُهُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى بِلاَدِ الْيَهُودِيَّةِ وَأَقَامَ فِيهَا مَعَهُمْ، وَأَخَذَ يُعَمِّدُ. وَكَانَ يُوحَنَّا أَيْضاً يُعَمِّدُ فِي عَيْنِ نُونٍ بِالْقُرْبِ مِنْ سَالِيمَ، لأَنَّ الْمِيَاهَ هُنَاكَ كَانَتْ كَثِيرَةً فَكَانَ النَّاسُ يَأْتُونَ وَيَتَعَمَّدُونَ. فَإِنَّ يُوحَنَّا لَمْ يَكُنْ قَد أُلْقِيَ بَعْدُ فِي السِّجْنِ. وَحَدَثَ جِدَالٌ بَيْنَ تَلاَمِيذِ يُوحَنَّا وَأَحَدِ الْيَهُودِ فِي شَأْنِ التَّطَهُّرِ. فَذَهَبُوا إِلَى وَقَالُوا لَهُ: “يَامُعَلِّمُ، الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي رَأَيْنَاهُ مَعَكَ فِي مَا وَرَاءَ نَهْرِ الأُرْدُنِّ، وَالَّذِي شَهِدْتَ لَهُ، هُوَ أَيْضاً يُعَمِّدُ، وَالْجَمِيعُ يَتَحَوَّلُونَ إِلَيْهِ!”. فَأَجَابَ يُوحَنَّا: “لاَ يَقْدِرُ أَحَدٌ أَنْ يَنَالَ شَيْئاً إِلاَّ إِذَا أُعْطِيَ لَهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ! أَنْتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ أَنِّي قُلْتُ: لَسْتُ أَنَا الْمَسِيحَ، بَلْ أَنَا رَسُولٌ يُمَهِّدُ لَهُ الطَّرِيقَ. وَمَنْ لَهُ الْعَرُوسُ، يَكُونُ هُوَ الْعَرِيسَ! أَمَّا صَدِيقُ الْعَرِيسِ، الَّذِي يَقِفُ قُرْبَهُ وَيَسْمَعُهُ، فَيَبْتَهِجُ لِفَرَحِهِ بِصَوْتِ الْعَرِيسِ. وَهَا إِنَّ فَرَحِي هَذَا قَدْ تَمَّ. َلاَبُدَّ أَنْ يَزِيدَ هُوَ وَأَنْقُصَ أَنَا“.

كان ليوحنّا المعمدان النبيّ، خدمة إعداد الطّريق وتحضير البشر لحين مجيء الرّبّ يسوع المسيح. فهو لم يكن المخلّص بل كان يعدّ الطريق للمخلّص الحقيقيّ الرّبّ يسوع. وبينما كان التلاميذ منشغلين بخدمة الرّبّ ومعموديّة النّفوس حاول إبليس أن يُحدث جدالاً بينهم وبين أحد اليهود والملفت أنّه لم يكن بشأن المعموديّة بل بموضوع التطهّر بهدف أن يسرق سلامهم. وفي مر7 نقرأ عن رأي اليهود بشأن التطهّر وعن مفهومهم عن القداسة والنجاسة، فقد حوّل الفرّيسيّون ما قد اعتبرونه من أمور رائعة يقومون بها إلى أمور كتابيّة مع أنّها ليست كذلك. فمن الرائع غسل اليدين قبل بدء الطعام ولكن عدم غسلهما لا يجعلك شخص نجس . فيسوع رَدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ قَائِلاً:”هَذَا الشَّعْبُ يُكْرِمُنِي بِشَفَتَيْهِ، وَأَمَّا قَلْبُهُ فَبَعِيدٌ عَنِّي جِدًّا”(مر7: 6).

 من هنا أوّل وصيّة لي ولك في بداية عام 2010: لا تتمسّكْ بتقاليد البشر بل بوصيّة الرّبّ إذ بها وحدها الحياة. فإن أطعْتَ الوصيّة الأولى وأحببْتَ الرّبّ أوّلاً فسوف تُكرمه تلقائيّاً. فاحذرْ أن تكون مؤمناً فرّيسيّاً شكليّاً تبدأ بالمحبّة وتنتهي بأن تسمع صوت الرّبّ يقول:”باطلاً تعبدني” بل كُنْ مؤمناً حقيقيّاً قلبيّاً فالعبادة الحقيقيّة هي أن تحبّ الرّبّ من كلّ قلبك وفكرك ونفسك، أن تُهمل ناموس وتقاليد البشر وتطيع ناموس المسيح وكلمته كأن تكون أميناً في عملك، خدمتك وأن تنكسر وتعتذر حين تخطئ. فاحذرْ أن تُبعدك الشكليّات التي قد وضعها البشر عن وصايا الرّبّ فتنتهي بأن تتعلّق بمن وضعها أكثر من الرّبّ. فالشكليّات أو مظهر التقوى يقودك إلى الجدال لذا نقرأ كيف وقع اليهود في هذا الفخّ فذهبوا إلى تلاميذ يوحنّا ليُجادلونهم. فثاني وصيّة لنا فلنحذر المجادلات الغبيّة. فلاحِظْ معي كيف أقبل تلاميذ يوحنّا إليه وبدل أن يسألوه عن سبب عدم تطهّرهم قالوا له بأنّ تلاميذ الرّبّ يسوع يعمّدون فالجدال الذي وقعوا فريسته قد سرق سلامهم وأمانهم فنسيوا من هم في المسيح يسوع فاستطاع الشيطان أن يدمّر حياتهم.

 تأكّدْ أنّ نتيجة ما يُسمّى جدالاً أو حواراً هو دوماً سلبيّاً وهو يسرق فرحك ويُظهر الأنا التي فيك وإن ربحْتَ هذا الجدال ستخسر علاقتك بالرّبّ كذلك لن تربح من تجادل. في بداية هذا العام تجنّبْ كلّ مجادلات غبيّة حمقاء كما وصفها بولس الرّسول في(2تيمو2: 23) عقيمة عالماً أنّها تولّد المشاجرات والتي نتيجتها تعادل نتيجة وجود الشّهوات في حياتك. تمثّلْ بهذا الرّسول وصمِّمْ أن تنسى ما وراء جيّداً كان أم سيّئاً وتتقدّم إلى الأمام. لاحِظْ شهادة يوحنا عن الرّبّ يسوع في يو1: 29- 34″وَفِي الْيَوْمِ التَّالِي رَأَى يُوحَنَّا يَسُوعَ آتِياً نَحْوَهُ، فَهَتَفَ قَائِلاً: “هَذَا هُوَ حَمَلُ اللهِ الَّذِي يُزِيلُ خَطِيئَةَ الْعَالَمِ…أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ هُوَ ابْنُ الله”. أمّا تلاميذه فقد ذهبوا إليه بعد الجدال قائلين في يو3: 26″يامُعَلِّمُ، الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي رَأَيْنَاهُ مَعَكَ فِي مَا وَرَاءَ نَهْرِ الأُرْدُنِّ، وَالَّذِي شَهِدْتَ لَهُ، هُوَ أَيْضاً يُعَمِّدُ، وَالْجَمِيعُ يَتَحَوَّلُونَ إِلَيْهِ!”فالتديّن وللأسف يجعلك ترى يسوع رجلاً ويوحنّا قدّيساً عظيماً، صحيح أنّ يوحنّا هو أعظم من ولدتْهُم النّساء إنّما وبمجرّد أن أتى المسيح يصبح يوحنّا وغيره لا شيء أمام عظمة ملك الملوك وربّ الأرباب. فالجدال أدّى إلى دخول الغيرة إلى حياة تلاميذ يوحنّا وكانت على وشك أن تدخل حياة يوحنّا أيضاً بأنّ أحدهم يسرق منه خدمته(المعموديّة) لكنّه حسم الأمر. فاحذَرْ الغيرة والمقارنة مع الآخرين فإنه مكتوب في أيو5: 2″الغيرة تُميت الأبله” فغيرة شاول مثلاً جعلتْه يقتل 85 كاهناً من شعب الله. لذا تسلَّحْ بمحبّة الله فالمحبّة لا تحسد(1كو13) وتأكّدْ أنّه السّلاح الوحيد الذي يقضي على الغيرة التي في حياتك، فالشّريعة كلّها تتلخّص بأن تحبّ الله من كلّ قلبك وفكرك ونفسك وأن تحِبّ قريبك كنفسك. ولكي يقضي على هذه الغيرة التي في حياة تلاميذه أجاب يوحنّا:”لاَ يَقْدِرُ أَحَدٌ أَنْ يَنَالَ شَيْئاً إِلاَّ إِذَا أُعْطِيَ لَهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ!”يو3:27,

ونستنتج من هذه الآيات ما يلي: 1-إطمئنّْ، إفرحْ وتأكّدْ فكلّ ما يحدث لحياتك هو تحت سلطان الرّبّ يسوع وهو وحده مُسيطرٌ على كلّ الظروف لذا تأكّدْ أنّك لن تتزعزع فاحيا للرّبّ دائماً ومهما كانت ظروفك، تذكّرْ وتمثّلْ بدانيال حين كان في جبّ الأسود هادئاً مطمئنّاً مستسلِماً خاضعاً لمشيئة الله الآب. فلا تسمحْ للشيطان أن يسرق منك سلامك وأمانك بل استكينْ واعلمْ أنّه هو الله وثقْ أنّه يؤدّب من يتّخذه ابناً له.2-كلّ شيء في حياتك هو هديّة من السّماء فتمتّعْ به واشكرْ الله على كلّ ما وهبك إيّاه. مكتوب في رو11: 36″فَإِنَّ مِنْهُ وَبِهِ وَلَهُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ. لَهُ الْمَجْدُ إِلَى الأَبَدِ”. وفي يو17: 4″أَنَا مَجَّدْتُكَ عَلَى الأَرْضِ، وَأَنْجَزْتُ الْعَمَلَ الَّذِي كَلَّفْتَنِي” فيسوع نفسه قد تمّم وأنجز العمل الذي كلّفه به الآب وقد منح تلاميذه هذا الفرح بأن يشكروا الله على كلّ ما قد منحهم إيّاه نتابع في الآية6″أَظْهَرْتُ اسْمَكَ لِلنَّاسِ الَّذِينَ وَهَبْتَهُمْ لِي مِنَ الْعَالَمِ. كَانُوا لَكَ، فَوَهَبْتَهُمْ لِي. وَقَدْ عَمِلُوا بِكَلِمَتِكَ” كلّ شيء هو من عند الله ولا أحد يأخذ أيّ شيء ما لم يكن قد وُهب له من السّماء حتى أنّ الله هو الذي يعطينا الإرادة والعمل لكي نرضيه. فاستسلِمْ له واعترِفْ أن بمعزلٍ عنه لا يمكنك ان تفعل أيّ شيء.1كو4: 7″فَمَنْ جَعَلَكَ مُتَمَيِّزاً عَنْ غَيْرِكَ؟ وَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ مِمَّا لَكَ لَمْ تَكُنْ قَدْ أَخَذْتَهُ هِبَةً؟ وَمَادُمْتَ قَدْ أَخَذْتَ، فَلِمَاذَا تَتَبَاهَى كَأَنَّكَ لَمْ تَأْخُذْ؟” من جديد إحذرْ الغيرة والتباهي وثِقْ أنّ الله يحبّك وهو يهبك ما يناسبك فكُنْ شاكراً على كلّ شيء.

قال يوحنّا في الآيات28- 30″لَسْتُ أَنَا الْمَسِيحَ… فَلاَبُدَّ أَنْ يَزِيدَ هُوَ وَأَنْقُصَ أَنَا” هيّا تشجّعْ تمثّلْ بيوحنّا واتّخِذْ قراراً في بداية هذا العام أن تتخلّى عن كبريائك فيزيد كلامك وانشغالك بالرّبّ يسوع وينقص انشغالك بنفسك فيتمجّد الرّبّ في بيتك، عملك، خدمتك..في كلّ ما تفعل ويأخذ هو وحده كلّ مجد لأنّه مستحقّ. فيسوع هو العريس وهو منشغل بلقاء العروس(الكنيسة) ولا بدّ أن يرتفع ويرفعها معه، لذا كجزء منها إنكسرْ واسمحْ له أن يرتفع في حياتك ويرفعك معه. تخلِّ عن الشكليّات وتعلّقْ بالرّبّ يسوع فهذا هو المطلوب. أمّا صديق العريس فهو يحضّر للعرس، يحيا لا لنفسه بل للعريس وهو يفرح لفرحه. فاسألْ نفسك هل تريد أن تكون هذا الصّديق القريب من العريس المهتمّ بالتحضير للعرس ودعوة وخلاص النّفوس، الشخص المُنكسر، غير المهتمّ بمتعته الخاصّة والأنا بل المنشغل دائماً بالتقرّب من العريس وسماع صوته والتمتّع به. ومهما اقتربْتَ منه إحذرْ أن تأخذ مجده وإلاّ كما رفعك هو حتماً يضعك لأنّه هو وحده العريس، أمّا أنت إن أردْتَ أن تكون صديقه إنشغلْ بالتّحضير للعرس واسعَ أن تخلّص أكبر عدد من النّفوس فيكون فرحك لفرحه بذلك كاملاً.
